World Press Photo 2017 contains the very best international press photography and reportage as presented in the World Press Photo 2016 contest, described by the British Journal of Photography as ‘the premier competition for photojournalism and reportage’

Since 1955, the annual World Press Photo contest has set the standard in visual journalism. The World Press Photo 2017 yearbook brings you the winners—the most striking images and compelling stories from 2016. Selected from 80,408 pictures taken by 5,034 photojournalists and documentary photographers from 126 countries, the prize-winning pictures are presented in a moving, sometimes disturbing document of the best visual journalism of the year.

David Campbell is a well known Australian Photography Academic who has taught around the world. In January 2016 he became Director of Communications and Engagement at the World Press Photo Foundation, based in Amsterdam.

Rodney Bolt is an award winning travel writer. He has published extensively with international newspapers and magazines, such as The Daily Telegraph, Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller, and inflight magazines Holland Herald (KLM) and Skyward (Japan Airlines).
